X-ray Film Processing
The Department of Biochemistry maintains three X-ray film processors. They are located in rooms K3.302 and L4.604 on South Campus. The third processor is on North Campus, room ND8.225A.
These instruments are maintained via a cost recovery program, in which the Department of Biochemistry participates with financial assistance. Authorized users pay an equal fraction of chemistry costs on a yearly basis.
A few simple rules govern the use of this processor.
Feed only X-ray film, which is free of tape, into the processor
Leave the film feed tray hood open when finished. Pull gently toward you, then lift up.
Leave the room free of tubes, foil or other equipment brought in for your experiment. Deposit all waste into trash can.
Turn the safety and in use light off when finished. Turn the room light on.
As with all common use equipment refer problems promptly to the Facility Manager. Be sure to place the Out of Order sign on the processor if you discover a problem with it.
